I'm a knife snob. I have a Gerber Perfect Balance set that is no longer in stock but I have kept it in pristine condition. I keep her sharp sharp sharp I love her. I have several Global knives and several German Premium knives. But during the Covid-19 quarantine with my daughter at her apartment, who has the worst plastic handled knives in the world, I started sweating and realized it was because there wasn't a decent knife in the house! I took a chance with this cheap set, knowing that if I turn the knives over, they could end up in the dishwasher. I have to say the knives are decently sharp, well made and look good on the counter. Are they world class? no But if you own a country house, know someone who doesn't like knives and doesn't tolerate knives, or just doesn't want to spend a lot of money, then it's a win-win situation.
