Pump came in a sealed box, drain plug had been snapped off and some of the threads on the housing were damaged, the hardware store next door had the correct screw, wiped the case, cleaned enough for a new screw, but had to use the oil that came with the unit to flush the sawdust out of damaged threads, used half the oil I bought to warm up the pump and drain it again to make sure there weren't any metal shavings left in the pump , first vacuum didn't hold which made me unsure if the pump was leaking, gauges or car repairs, used nylog on all pumps, gauges and lines, then held the vacuum. Not knowing the manufacturer's quality control policy, they would have to unscrew the drain plug manually to find out that it had transverse threads. Then they would not have this public scrutiny.
