GM has issued a technical bulletin to upgrade the magnet in the transmission pan from 1 to 2. The original magnet is very small, about 1-1.25 square meters. Inches and thin, but mostly weak. These are large round donut holes that will be difficult to get out of the metal. Very strong, big and bold. Get 2, one for the home position and the other goes to the filter but snaps onto the pan lid, google "impalafurm magnetic transmission" to see the TSB and its location.
