    Worked great to answer GM Transmission Service Advice 4T45

    . Worked great to answer service advice 08-07-30-04-0B for my GM 4T45 transmission for my 2008 Saturn Vue Greenline. Only questionable point was that the magnets were marked "Made in China". However, I placed it face down in the pan. I just hope the paint doesn't peel off, but I think I'll find out one day.

    Essential replacement for 4T65E transmission

    GM has issued a technical bulletin to upgrade the magnet in the transmission pan from 1 to 2. The original magnet is very small, about 1-1.25 square meters. Inches and thin, but mostly weak. These are large round donut holes that will be difficult to get out of the metal. Very strong, big and bold. Get 2, one for the home position and the other goes to the filter but snaps onto the pan lid, google "impalafurm magnetic transmission" to see the TSB and its location.

    Bulletin GM recommends they are MUCH bigger and more powerful

    Install two of these. You can find recommended mounting locations on the GM forums if you search. I found the magnet to fit perfectly on the drain plug on my Dorman 265-184 trans pan (with drain plug). Don't forget to set the other one exactly as recommended - it's under the filter. Check the polarity and line them up so the poles go the same way so they work together and not against each other.

    Possibly fake? in Parts

    So, as you can see in my photo, someone wrote "Made in China" on mine with a marker. That brings me to two possibilities. One is a fake in an AC box or two, someone opened it and felt the need to write it on it. In any case, this is a weak round magnet with a hole for $9. To transfer, just find a random magnet and close it. If you have an Allison and you need it for a filter, that sucks. Maybe try to buy it from the dealer, then you can be sure that it is a real ac delco.

    Get them for your 4T65E gearbox

    These are the updated magnets for the 4T65E gearbox. You need two of these. One goes into the steel pan and the other goes to the filter. The original magnet is pathetic, like a cheap plastic laminate fridge magnet, and gets saturated with metal shavings very quickly. Unfortunately, the filter doesn't catch these shavings, and they clog the transmission oil, allowing some of them to circulate.
