Great product. I use a sponge filter in my African dwarf frog tank. They prefer calm water and are poor swimmers. This device allows me to reduce the amount of air pushed out of the sponge filter so the water isn't too crazy for the little boys. I'm also impressed by how quiet it is! I usually buy a cheap mouse pad and put all my air units on it. The air hose that comes with it is also great. It's thick and durable. This is a very good way of preventing kinks. I did not use the air stone that came with the unit because I needed a smaller stone to fit the foam filter. I think it's worth noting that the air stone is large. It wouldn't work for what I needed, but I'm keeping it for future use. I only have one complaint and that is that there is a pebble in the check valve that rattles endlessly. I changed it to a check valve that I had laying around. I could hear it through the pump and it would drive me crazy. All in all I am happy with this purchase!
