Since I needed a replacement for my damaged ultrawide monitor, I decided on this one as a step up. This is NOT full 4K, but considering 1) size, 2) curve, 3) relative price, this monitor seemed like good value for money. Also, I've had AOC (non-congressman) products before, so I wasn't expecting to get hit or anything and have complaints, but I was also expecting something that does what it's supposed to do. : 1) Not a super accurate display for colors or all viewing angles (I mean if you need ULTRA perfect) but if that's what you're after you wouldn't consider this price anyway 2) 100% great for normal desktop use and gaming - centered, color and brightness even edge-to-edge, and usually a subtle top-to-bottom color shift (you'll see this with some colors during manual calibration, but usually you don't) 3) Be prepared to make a lot of adjustments to your monitor settings, to get the picture you want - AOC is doing themselves a disservice by sending it as is, like many of the - I expect Box users will be confused and frustrated. tential - it has the weight and build quality I've come to expect from more expensive monitors. Setup is about as easy as you'd expect from any monitor these days. I used DisplayPort, but the monitor also has HDMI inputs. However, I saw right away that something was wrong with the monitor settings, which isn't a big deal since you can easily change the settings, right? Well yes, but. This monitor insists on having the WORST combination of on-screen display and small, identical-feeling, hidden control buttons. Bypassing the OSD is a nightmare, with random menu exits, monitor shutdowns, and paranoia about pressing the wrong buttons. One thing that was very confusing right off the bat is that (despite some listing information saying this monitor has HDR). However, when you turn it on in Windows, the image immediately becomes completely blurry, which gives me a new starting point to calibrate and question the sanity/value of HDR (I can't really do much with it with Windows and monitor on, to be honest see a difference, but sometimes just that - strange behavior in games, I don't even know why). , I also learned a lot about the display and put the picture in a decent place - it doesn't weigh closer to the default settings. I was able to put it where I liked - others have commented about the brightness but I had no problems - I had to turn the brightness down a bit to get a comfortable spot. Either way, I recommend it, just be aware of what you're getting yourself into.
