After seeing some of the other reviews I felt compelled to post a review that primarily reflects my warranty experience. The monitor is great. This was my first ultra wide 34 inch monitor. I originally bought it in March 2021 in addition to the new prebuilt one I bought due to lack of GPU resources to build it myself. Fast forward 6 months later and the monitor fell face first onto my desk. and caught the mouse in the wrong place. Strangely, this cracked the screen on the upper right side, damaging the panel and leaving a 6-inch box-shaped space empty from the edge inwards. The rest of the monitor worked, but after seeing this I almost burst into tears given the cost and short lifespan. It happened on Sunday. I contacted AOC via email that evening but decided to call the next day in the evening. I contacted a representative and he helped me get started. The representative spoke French, which reminded me of a scene from the IT crowd where one of the characters calls the call center and has trouble understanding the agents. However, he was very helpful and was able to start the process for me. Ed, as a customer I had two options for a replacement (one of which the agent said took a little longer than the other, although he didn't specify which). I could either ship the monitor myself, have a replacement sent to me on receipt OR have my CC send one out ASAP and I could then send the damaged monitor back with the box. I took the path of least resistance, which for me was to provide information about my CC so they could send me a monitor asap. The trial began on Monday evening. On Wednesday I received a reply from the warranty processing company telling me it was approved and giving me a choice on how to proceed. I sent the information immediately. I have been notified that an order has been placed and I am being notified that a replacement monitor has been shipped. It's been about a week and I haven't heard anything. I checked the RMA website the same day (after the Thursday after the RMA approval) and didn't see anything, but eventually received an email notification that the monitor had been shipped. When I checked the tracking it should have arrived the next day. It arrived the next day as expected and I print it from the same computer/monitor configuration. The entire process from initiation to receiving the monitor took just under 2 weeks (approx. 10 working days). I was really impressed with the AOC guarantee and the speed and relative ease with which I was able to go through their process and get a replacement. . This was a first for me as I don't usually like to rely on guarantees. I learned 2 lessons from this: 1. A warranty like AOC's 1 year warranty makes ALL the difference in the world when you need it and that's what I will look for when I buy other monitors.2. Maybe I should think twice before buying an extended warranty on an expensive monitor. THANKS AOK.
