I bought this to install an IDE to microSD adapter in a Sony Vaio computer. I didn't have room to put the adapter in the back along with the rest of the cards, and there weren't holes in the HDD cage that lined up. I inserted the microSD adapter into this mounting bracket, which was quite tricky as it's a little tight and I thought I'd damage the adapter or at least part of it. After I inserted the adapter into this bracket, it fitted easily into the hard drive bay and didn't move around in the bay much, which is what I wanted. So yes, it's just a piece of molded plastic, but it did the job I needed, not for a lot of money. So overall the product was good.
