Review on πŸ‹ IMUSA USA J100 -00285 Lime Squeezer: Efficient Green Citrus Juicer for Fresh Lime Extracts by Shay Badger

Backward design deserves recognition

Based on other reviews it may not be performing to its full potential but it seems to work well. However, it deserves one star for either poor design or poor build quality. Look at the slits on the concave side of the item. These slits are on the outside (skin) of the lime where the juice doesn't come out. The other convex part, pressed into the lime paste, is hard. It blocks the extraction of the juice that needs to be squeezed around the juicer's firm bulbous half and works against the force used to extract the juice. As a result, more effort is required to extract less juice, which is sprayed all over the kitchen under pressure. Somewhere between design and production, it's built backwards. If the slots were on the convex part, the juice would come out more and with less effort. There must be a reward for such backward design that only survives through industrial persistence.
