Review on ⚡️ Enhanced ACDelco Gold 337-1027 Starter for Improved Performance by Francisco Russell

Good day everyone. I have the same problem. I spent 4.5 hours replacing the same starter motor on a 2002 Suburban. I started and everything was fine. I was running some errands and when I tried to start it at my last stop it wouldn't start. I figured maybe I shouldn't have gone with that starter but just went to the Chevy dealership's starter and paid the $555 they asked for. I came back to look at the reviews again. I saw what e-Dude posted. When my Suburban returned to my AAA home I checked the fuse and yes it was blown. So I replaced and and tried to run it. The same, the fuse blew. So I know it had to happen. The screen touched one of the wires. So I disassembled it without removing the starter. I was able to remove the dust/heat protection. I modified it by sharpening the end at the front of the starter. I didn't see the need for the screen to be that close to the power connector. So I ground it back with a bench grinder so that when the heat shield moves forward it doesn't touch any of the wires. Then I took another step. I took the black RTV silicone and covered all the electrical connections. I even wrapped the shield's legs in silicone to keep it from moving. I hope this helps you. It helps me to be a little late. One more thing, reconnect the cable to the oil gauge knuckle before turning the starter after installing the starter. I had to remove it again because the cable didn't reach all the way to the reconnect. I couldn't get the wiring harness to work out any slack.
