Overpriced Computer Components

I bought these after some rave reviews from a youtuber saying how good these fans are and comparing them to Noctua fans. Here's what I had to compare it to: Cougar Vortex CF-V12HB 120mm fan Corsair's universal 140mm fan that came with the case Now, right out of the box, 3/5 of the fans had a cracked grille. I bought mine from stock so thought it might have been a previous purchase or shipment but compared to my other fans the grille was a lot thinner. It looks like a lot of durability has been traded in for performance. Be careful when installing as if you drop them they may snap due to this issue as well as the extra weight. Now if that was the only issue I would just get a replacement instead of a refund. But there are other issues: Other reviewers I've read didn't mention this, but these fans are actually thicker than standard 140mm/120mm fans and I had a very hard time not fitting them -installing traditional mounting slots on my case have been waiting. have a standard width. I can say that this extra girth is also likely to account for the large cubic foot and static pressure in the reviews. Acoustic performance wasn't very good either. It can be quiet outdoors as long as you hold it in your hand. If you place it on a hard surface or lay it on the floor, it starts making that resonant engine hum. If you want to use these fans you will definitely need rubber screws which may or may not solve this problem but these fans are not included either. I haven't tested it with the rubber bolts that came with my Cougars. This problem makes the fan louder than even a cheap Corsair fan. Here's how I would compare the noise levels in my case: Grille: Cougar = Corsair >>>ArcticTop GrillCougar>>Corsair>ArcticGranted I believe it moves more air than either of the fans, but I haven't done extensive testing on this part, and on At no level (up to 40%) can I make the P14s as quiet as the Cougars. Looking back, I think cougar fans are really underrated and deserve more attention and criticism.
