Review on INNAMOTO Skateboard Helmet Multi Sports Skateboarding by Cory Owens

Good to start with I don't usually write reviews. BUT this helmet is awesome! I've had 7 concussions (yes, you read that number right - I played a lot of contact sports as a kid). So I take head protection in any form SUPER seriously (take care of your head, you only have one!). So I got this helmet hoping to update my old battered skateboard helmet that has outlived use and is now being put on retirement. . I love that this helmet comes in multiple matte colors so there's something for everyone (safety can be fun and trendy!). Ordering and shipping was easy and they arrived quickly despite the pandemic shipping issues I've had with other orders. When I received it it was well packaged in a protective box and wrapped in plastic to ensure it was clean and undamaged in the mail. Upon opening I was very excited to see that it really does match the photos and the color is perfect! It's very light but feels extremely strong and will protect me in the event of an accident. The helmet shell itself is made of hard plastic with vents on the front, back and top that allow for breathability without compromising protection. I live in the desert so this is good news for really hot days. The sink also has a little lip-like visor, which I liked too. I feel like falling forward gives you extra protection for your face and maybe some sunscreen. The inside of the helmet is my favorite part! The foam shell inside the case is nice and thick to survive any kind of head impact and will definitely help with bumps even if the outer shell cracks or tears. And it's the same thickness all over, unlike some helmets I've had in the past. Inside is a fantastic pattern of smooth fabric upholstery that is interchangeable and uses a Velcro closure system. (They will give you a second FULL PACK of foam padding if you need it, at no extra charge!). The helmet is fully adjustable which I love! There's nothing worse than seeing someone with an ill-fitting helmet. (Does basically nothing to protect you!). At the back, the lower half of the inside of the helmet, is an adjustment system that allows you to use a soft rubber grip to snugly adjust the helmet to your head. And for those worried about having long hair, use this and get tangled in it, don't worry I have long thick curly hair and I've tested it in several hairstyles and you should feel comfortable and be finished. And it's usually well hidden under the helmet shell, so you don't even see it unless you're really looking for it. The straps are another great feature that I love. They have nice, thick, soft-to-the-touch nylon straps that are also adjustable, and they come with a soft fabric sleeve with velcro to cover the excess when they're adjusted for you, which also helps with that annoying rubbing and fraying that comes with it often occurs with strap helmets over time. .(No more weird red lines on your face and neck!) The straps also have a side plastic part that allows you to adjust the position of the straps around your ears for a really comfortable fit if you wear earrings or your hair is loose is. You can also avoid becoming addicted to them. The buckle is made of high quality durable plastic and is actually red which is great in an emergency so you or someone else can quickly unbuckle it when needed without fiddling with it as it blends in with the rest of the helmet like most helmets I have seen. The other side of the buckle is black so it still fits snugly so there are no crazy contrasting colors. They also give you a full size drawstring bag for carrying and storing your helmet, but it has enough space for a water bottle and some pads (not sure if they have the full set but worth a try). As a roller skater, it is very convenient to carry shoes, keys and anything else you need hands-free when skating. Overall I love this helmet and would recommend it to everyone I know. I even got compliments testing it out from some Derby girls I knew and some other random skaters while I was away. It also has the benefit of being almost perfect for my new skate that I love. (being safe is cute!) It also has a smooth finish which is perfect for all my sticker lovers and derby lovers who want/need to mark their gear. If you are looking for a safe helmet then this is it.
