I used this on a 2002 F150, 5.4L, 206,000 miles. When servicing the transmission, I changed the rear main oil seal. Comes with a plastic grommet to facilitate attachment to the end of the crank. Of course I'm glad a lot happened when fitting the seal retainer plate onto the pins, the last thing I have to worry about is the flexing of the seal lip, that takes my worries away. Clean the end of the crank as suggested, nice and dry before installing (per instructions). Also, it seems like an advance in rubber technology, it's PTFE and according to the Fel-Pro website it should be better. Driven a few hundred kilometers so far, no leaks. So this looks like a good choice for a few bucks more over the stock rubber, I'm happy with it.
