Get a PVC connector for easy installation!

For my 04 F150. I had to give up the trans. It hurt but as soon as I could reach it I pulled the old one out by inserting a screw and pulling with pliers. Use the supplied o-ring and this (U4818 4 MIPT PLUG PVC) for installation. Trust me, spend $2-3, hit it with a hammer and Bob will be your uncle! Much luck!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing

Not at all like the original

This works in a pinch, but not like the original. Instead of a textured multi-lip seal with a spring to control contact, it's just a metal ring with some sort of graphite-impregnated hardboard. When I got it I thought no. But it came with an installation tool that worked great to get the OEM style stamp. It was worth the price for this print so I gave it three stars. Something useful.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • vulgarity

Fits my Mustang 99 3.8!

I was starting to notice oil drips on the driveway and the gearbox looked oily but it wasn't red so I knew it was motor oil. Of course, the rear oil seal had a small crack. I used a jack to support the transmission while a friend removed the old gasket and installed the new one. This gasket is very easy to install with the tool provided, slides great and definitely seals great. I've had the print for 7 months I think and it's working great! No oil leakage!

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • High price

Excellent seal quality

I used this on a 2002 F150, 5.4L, 206,000 miles. When servicing the transmission, I changed the rear main oil seal. Comes with a plastic grommet to facilitate attachment to the end of the crank. Of course I'm glad a lot happened when fitting the seal retainer plate onto the pins, the last thing I have to worry about is the flexing of the seal lip, that takes my worries away. Clean the end of the crank as suggested, nice and dry before installing (per instructions). Also, it seems like anโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Not bad

Finally understood!

For the correct installation of such an important installation, there are practically no instructions/diagrams. My car is a 2000 F150, 5.4 2V L. The pictures pretty much say it all. 1.) PTFEM Be sure to clean the crank with alcohol. PTFE is a hermetic lip seal, not a spring. Dry installation, no oil or grease allowed. I plan on using some RTV on the outside, but I've also read that a bit of lube is acceptable to help with installation. NOT indoors, only outdoors. Presumably the sealing lip hasโ€ฆ
