Review on STAUBER Best Honda Key Shell Replacement for Civic, Odyssey, and Crosstour - No Locksmith Needed - Reuse Your Old Key and Chip! (3 Button, Black) by Matt Morrison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works perfectly! No need to change the key, forget the dealer!

If I could give this thing six stars I would. The keys to my 2009 CR-V and 2010 Accord fell apart with duct tape, and I wasn't planning on spending over $150. recode at dealer. Sound familiar? This is the product for you. No need to change, forget the dealer! The exchange lasted only five minutes. It couldn't be easier. This new case is strong and well made and holds the key part very well. A few things to look out for when purchasing this product: * Some key models (looks older, pre 2009 at most) have the RFID chip built into the side of the key shell, mine doesn't and I don't expect it. After googling and watching YouTube videos, I discovered that the RFID chip is built into the inside of the remote, making replacement even easier.* The metal part of the "key" needs to be broken out of the old plastic shell . I used needle nose pliers to gently pry it out of the plastic of my Accord. The CRV key literally fell out of its plastic case as it had already cracked.* While you have everything disassembled, take the time to replace the battery in the removed part. This saves you from having to take everything apart again later when your batteries are old. Overall I would buy this again in a heartbeat, but I don't think I need it because the new case looks very well made.
