Got this for hedgehog habitat as they need to be kept at 73-80F. Use it with one of those incandescent bulbs that don't emit any light. CH seems to be called. So far, so good. An automatic sensor turns it on and off when the temperature drops below the temperature we set. My only concern is the wire and how it bends/makes contact with the top of the lamp. Don't let it melt. You can try installing some sort of mini shepherd or something to remove the cord from the lamp. I am currently using a spring clip on a metal mesh lid.
