Review on 🖨️ Zi-Rui PLA 3D Printer Filament by Radney Taala

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good end result, tuning needed

I'm leaving this thread a 4 star rating but also letting others who are thinking of buying it know my experience. I bought this to make some color changing mugs (Kickstarter Mythic Mugs) and had a lot of printing issues with this thread. I usually use Hatchbox, so my default printing temperature on my Ender 3 Pro is 200°/60°. I immediately had problems with the first layer. I upped it to 205°/60° as another reviewer suggested and I still had a terrible first layer BUT I was able to go through the entire print. However, I wasn't satisfied because you could feel the under-extrusion at the bottom of the cup, I figured I could punch a hole in it. Then I printed the temperature tower. This is the first time I'm doing this (picture attached). I made an offset of 5° based on a previous reviewer's comment about 205°, so as you can see my temporary turret is really stable between 210° and 220°, which is a range of 215° to 225°. I printed the mug again at 220°, it came out much better and I'm happy with the results. I print the next mug at 215° with similar results. Please note that the temperature range pre-printed on the filament spool is 190° to 220°. i really like it The orange-red takes longer than expected to appear and I only turned it yellow after holding it over a cup of hot coffee. Overall, I'm still more satisfied than dissatisfied, so 4*s.TL;DR Don't abandon this thread. The end result is great when you set the right temperature. And print a temporary tower every time you try a new thread.
