Works well until it fails. I bought this set of countersinks and several boxes of screws. The conical drill works well. It cuts very well through composite deck boats and wood. This leaves a nice countersink and loves the fact that the pre-drilled hole isn't the same diameter. I think the screw bites better. But there is a SERIOUS flaw in the design of this tool. The round drill is installed with KLEBER in a 1/4 hexagon shank. The glue fails after using the drill for a long time and heats up easily. In my case it failed after about 300 screws (#8 x 2.5 inch). After it failed you can see this white plastic material on the part of the drill bit that came out and more material is still covering the hole in 1/. 4 inch hex. You MUST use some form of mechanical connection that is independent of glue. However, the bit can be used without the hex shank. Simply connect the chuck to the drill as if you were using a regular 3/16 drill. But you cannot use the quick switch function. I also assume that it is a warranty case and will ask for a replacement. No, I did NOT abuse this tool, it wasn't "hot" when it went out, just warm, but if used warm the glue won't work. I think that's the root of the bad design, they used some kind of glue that loses strength when heated. A good tool if you only need to countersink a few screws every now and then. But not if you have a five-pound box of screws. It works well enough, I'll replace it and leave it with my drills.
