Review on Cook Home NC 00358 Nonstick 10 Piece by Teresa Sparks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Doubts about 5 stars but concerned about the product and the Chinese made interior.

Updated on 4/9/2016. Hey I've been using these pans for a year and they look the same as the day I bought them except for a scratch on my pan where my husband decided to trim the fat off a piece of ham right in the pan . I saw him and caught him before he made the next cut, so a scratch. They wash great and I still love them. The bottoms of the pots, although finely ribbed, don't scratch my stove. I only use Teflon tools. In a previous review I forgot to add a large teflon spoon and a slotted spoon came with my kit. Added shortly after the review below: I washed the pots and pans and the feeling of sand in the largest pan was gone. As they are made of aluminium, they cannot be used on an induction hob either. The bottoms of pots and pans feel ripped like they could scratch a glass range and I have a glass range and will be back in a couple of weeks. Just received the item today. I didn't know there was a shimmery finish inside, like there was shards of glass or mica in the finish. Since it's made in China, I'm very concerned about it. The set feels quite heavy and you can see the aluminum in the piece where the exterior paint reaches the top of the pots and pans but doesn't cover the top. The set looks very nice and states that it can be used with all types of cookware except induction. The lids fit well, have ventilation, and the handles on the sets are riveted and have a nice feel. Neither the folded 1-page flyer nor the packaging state that the coatings on these pots and pans are free from harmful chemicals. When you take your fingertips and run across the non-stick inner base of the largest pan, you can feel those shimmering particles of color beneath your fingertips, similar to finely ground glass but smooth in other pans. I'm going to be bold and use this for a while and give you an update on whether the inside of the large skillet continues to feel the same or becomes completely smooth because when it's smooth you know the inside is coming out a bit in your food . The packaging states that the "non-stick coating" provides excellent non-stick properties for a long time. The box is also written in the form of a circle. Premium at the top of the circle, ceramic at the bottom of the circle, and extra large nonstick in the center of the circle. So, ceramic outside or inside. I'll be sure to let you know later as it took me a long time to decide which set of ceramic indoor utensils to order as things can look different in person. I've included photos of these pots and the soil so you can see for yourself. If anyone knows exactly what is in "Ceramic or White Teflon" please let me know as I have this question. ceramics? I don't want to be misled. My other indoor ceramic pot doesn't have the shimmering glass characteristics, it's completely covered in paint.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it says
