Review on KidCo G3011 Configure Gate 80 inch: Versatile and Secure Child Safety Solution by Renee Jones

The KidCo Auto Close Configure gate was one of three adjustable gates we tried and was a clear winner. Despite being twice the price of the next best option (DreamBaby Newport), we chose the KidCo option for the irregularly shaped staircase at the top of our staircase, mainly because (1) it felt strong and sturdy (particularly from - for end caps). which better fixed the shape of the gate in the panel joints compared to competitors) and (2) the 9 inch extension option was very useful in our case. I wish the KidCo wasn't that expensive, but I appreciate all the options you can get (like the 9" extension or the stair mount kit) that tailor it even better to the specific needs of the gate. The KidCo gate closes automatically, which can be good or bad, but the door can also stay open if you open it to a 90 degree angle. And lifting the door to open it takes a little getting used to. One thing DreamBaby Newport suggested and wished KidCo would do was add a stopper to prevent the gate from opening in either direction. Eventually I would have to build something to prevent the gate to the stairs from opening, but that wasn't enough to make me give it up.
