I was having trouble getting my (very) old Generac alternator to run smoothly with the original carburetor so thought I might give this one a try as the price was so low. It took a bit of getting used to, but the old thing runs very smoothly again, with no constant bouncing or partial throttling, even when hot. I was concerned that only the whole thing needed to be replaced, but the small investment means hundreds of people will be saved as the alternator does not need to be replaced. Complete set and gaskets fit perfectly. The only problem I had was that I couldn't remove the red button from the choke to put the air cleaner cover/housing back on, so I had to break it. I can't tell if it was meant to come loose or not but now it's in pieces so will never wear it again! It's okay, the metal sticks out far enough and works well.
