Review on πŸ‘œ Spacious and Convenient: CURT 18221 Extended Roof Rack Cargo Bag for All Your Travel Essentials by Trevor Rodke

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This bag was so good I finally had to write a review for Revain.

I'm one of those idiots who always read Revain reviews but never leave them. Well this bag worked so well I was just about to finally write a review after years of buying things from Revain. I recently traveled from the upstate to the far south and used this bag on my jeep. At first the weather was lousy before I moved, and when a good day came about a week before my move, I jumped at the opportunity and loaded my bag. Snow, rain, sleet and strong winds. On an actual ride down I encountered heavy rain for about 2 hours or so. The moral of the story is that everything in the bag was 100% dry. Even if it got a little wet I would have been impressed, but it amazed me. The usability of the bag was also pretty good. It was easy to load and the straps that came with it were adequate. While it was loaded prior to my move I only used these straps and it seems to be holding up well. However, for the actual movement, I also used a couple of ratchet links. This was for 2 reasons: 1) the included straps are difficult to adjust while moving, and 2) I'm a very paranoid person and wanted to be 100% sure the bag would stay where I wanted it. Keep in mind this bag is very large which was perfect for me as I have a decent roof rack. Also, you have to make sure it's completely full or it will slam towards you (this can be common with all bags of this type). I ended up stuffing it with some pillows and duvets to make sure all the space was used up (note that those pillows and duvets wrapped around part of the zip pocket and were completely dry again). I don't know what else to say. if you are looking for a cargo bag and there is room for it. Buy it. Kurt has pockets of different sizes. I assume they are all of the same quality.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
