Not worth the money or hassle if you're trying to filter out odors.

I bought this because diesel smoke, old car exhaust, chimneys and brush smoke give me a headache. I thought this was exactly what I was looking for, but it's not effective on any of the above to any significant extent. It was a waste of my time and money, after installing it I had to drive about 120 miles round trip and no more than five minutes on the road and the old 70's model pickup truck was in front of me, and the smell of burning gas and oil, which corresponds to the factory filter. Later on in my trip I met a skunk that was killed on the road and the smell was just as bad. Then, when I returned home after dark, I walked through the smoke from the chimney and it was as strong as ever. I have no doubt the filter is a better quality than the factory filter and will handle dust and possibly pollen much better, but as far as odors and chemical sensitivities go it's a waste of time. UPDATE: That should be one. One of the most useless purchases I've ever made, after trying it for a week, it reduces absolutely nothing other than what it claims to be fine dust, dust, pollen etc. When a diesel truck pulls out in front of me or I'm behind an old car that burns petrol and oil, the filter actually seems to me to be worse than the standard factory filter. I also bought one for my wife's Escalade and will be returning it while it's open. I wanted to install it because it's a lot thicker and I thought it might be more efficient because mine is no more than 3/4 thick in an inch, I thought maybe it doesn't work because it's a bit flimsy but it does now I'm convinced it's just a lame product.

Pros
  • Cabin Air Filter
Cons
  • poorly thought out
