The Best Tool for Today's Job

This device, as other reviews note, is not the cheapest way to lift and carry. If you need to move an item, or even multiple times, this can be a luxury. We have helped several family members, friends and co-workers move and I wish it had been twenty years earlier. This makes lifting almost any awkward object very easy and safe. Once you place the strap under an object, two people simply kneel or crouch at each end, lock in place, pull out any slack, and stand up. All weight rests on the shoulders, hands free to fix the object and/or help to get up. The object can be moved back and forth on the strap to balance the load, which is also helpful when moving up steps or stairs. The craziest thing we did with it: My daughter found a lot in the kitchen model. The catch was that it had to be disassembled and transported. Neither my son-in-law nor I had seen the footage beforehand, so we didn't know the scope of the project. The shoulder trolley was excellent for lifting all cabinets, regardless of shape or length (some were 10 feet long and one pantry was 4 feet by 9 feet). The two main countertops were a real surprise: 8 x 6 and 11 x 4 soapstone, an inch and a half thick. This material is about 33 pounds per square foot. We barely made it to the truck, but this lift system made it. (Yes, I should have rented some sort of drywall truck, but it's not the best step down). Since then, this device has made moving large and/or heavy objects much easier and safer. If you are looking for the best tool, it is definitely worth the price.

Pros
  • ONE SIZE FITS ALL - Differences in slider height are accommodated by the ability to adjust the belt through the buckle. The shoulder straps are fully adjustable for each user.
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model
