If you want to mount the camera so that it is horizontal it will work correctly. However, if you want to use your webcam as a document camera, pointing down at the table, this won't work. My camera is on the compatibility list but cannot be mounted as shown in the picture because the clip has a minimum width of 2.5 inches. To clamp a little narrower, you have to insert a washer, but this is not stable. If you mount the camera as shown, your document will appear upside down on the screen. Because the top and bottom of the camera are not symmetrical, it is not possible to rotate the camera 180 degrees in the mount so that the document is displayed the right way up on the screen. This is a typical example of an engineer designing something and thinking in his head that it will work a certain way, but never actually testing it. It would have been very easy to make the clamping mechanism more flexible, but it just wasn't thought through at the design stage.
