Just arrived from my technician - removed and reassembled the control valve myself which I installed in about 20 minutes. The included VTEC sensor provides an "OFF" reading to the ECM depending on the application. I installed the sensor from the old control valve and the car immediately improved and the code was removed. Cruise down the freeway at freeway speed and VTEC has you kicked! So spent the money on the coil, but the electronics aren't what the Honda PCM is looking for. This one was dead electrically but hydraulically, no leaks. I'm wondering if there is any real QC against the Honda PCM electrical testing before it's sold and sold. Stay away from this aftermarket stuff on any engine, especially the i-VTEC. Beware!
