A friend lent me his china on an iron brazier. It was cute but jumped off a pan so heavy it could have been hit. Then I decided to buy a cast iron stove. After reading a few reviews and comparing prices I bought a Bruntmor stove. I once flavored it with avocado oil, which to my knowledge has the highest smoke point. My first attempt at baking bread at 450 degrees was perfect. The bread was baked evenly with no noticeable burn marks. Best of all, the bread sat loose in the oven with no need to coax or dig to get it out. The lid is perfect for steaming and braising. If I could make a suggestion, it would be somehow easier to distinguish the handles of the lid from the pan. I climb into a hot oven, trying not to grab a handle on the lid and the handle on the pan. At 450* you don't need an accident.
