Not durable due to plastic parts

My machine broke after less than 2 months of use and ownership. I've followed this machine down to the last detail and spoiled it as it quickly became a favorite kitchen gadget. When the machine was running, it did a pretty good job of extracting juice from almost anything. In fact, many fruits/vegetables may require blended juice drinks because some foods (e.g. apples, tomatoes) are too soft and something else (e.g. carrots) needs to be added to push the food through the auger if you Sauces of sorts accumulate near the base of the snail. The machine is easy to assemble/disassemble and very easy to clean. My favorite treat has been making frozen fruit sorbet with this machine. til today. I made avocado sorbet with store-bought frozen avocados. I waited at least 7 minutes for it to defrost before attempting to make a sorbet. At first everything went well. I tossed in small chunks of avocado and let gravity pull the avocado into the auger. I didn't have to press anything. Eventually the machine then made two clicking sounds, and the next thing I knew the connector was flying out with a fragment of one of the retaining "teeth". The main disadvantage of this machine is the use of plastic parts instead of metal parts. parts. This is simply a cost cutting approach to make the product as cheap as possible while maximizing profit. Oh, it's made in China too. The problem I have is that there is a consumer base that appreciates solid metal parts and is willing to pay for them. You should take this into account with consumers who are willing to pay. My experience today only confirms my fondness for metal parts. Just a few minutes ago I emailed Omega Customer Service (according to the product description on this page the product has a 15 year parts and labor warranty). I explained what happened and received an automated reply confirming that they received my email and will eventually take the time to actually reply, but due to COVID-19 and their skeletal team it may take longer to support customers. Be aware that Omega Juicers state on their website that you pay for shipping and handling for any warranty coverage. Time will tell if Omega takes care of me or gives me trouble. If someone were to ask me whether I would recommend this product, I would say I am conflicted. When I bought this car I was concerned about the plastic parts. If it worked, I liked it. It's great for making juices, sorbets, almond milk and great for crushing garlic cloves (large batches that can be refrigerated). When it broke, my fears and reservations at the time were confirmed. One last thought, don't make avocado sorbet. I tried what I had before my car broke down and it was pretty gross. I don't know what I was thinking. I highly recommend making frozen cherry or pineapple sorbet.
