PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING This Dorman brand regulator fits and works perfectly for this corner of the car): My car is a 2003 Grand Cherokee LTD. Many reviews don't list the year so I'm not sure how important that is. Most of the negative reviews relate to installation. Especially engine installations. We'll get to that in a moment. Anyway, I first bought one for the left back door which had great reviews. Removal and installation went smoothly after watching a youtube video (yes there is one for the tailgate too) and overall I was very happy with everything. A week later the right front piece let go. Needless to say, I was very upset. This could very well be because the 95 degree plus temperature weakens the nylon cable tie as it broke in both cases. more Chris The more dirty mittens you have in these jeeps, the more problems you have. When I ordered the front I decided to stick with the Dorman brand as I was so pleased with the back. To my great surprise, there were only 3 star reviews on the front. So I called Dorman to see if they knew why. This is important: your ESCs (not a motor) are only for the OEM motor, which has 32 teeth. Many people who replace them have no idea if the device has ever been replaced before. Some reviews say it could literally be an annual thing. Since most auto parts stores only sell blocks with a motor, you could very well get one with an aftermarket motor that only has 7 teeth. Dorman says aftermarket engines that come with governors are used in many different applications and are therefore a universal design with a vehicle-specific electrical connector. So these reviewers who are complaining about the fitment have a spare motor/controller KIT in their car and should therefore replace it with a KIT. Black OEM motor with gold Iridit cap. The secondary market is likely electrified. If you decide to take it out for a positive ID, cut it 2X4 19 inches long, place in the door cavity and lift the window. I rode my week with no problems. Also note how tight each screw is during disassembly. Some reviewers complain about plastic parts breaking (don't be a gorilla). Finally, Dorman said that all cable-powered regulators are inherently weak in design. After the windows are all the way up, it would be a good idea to push the button down to release the tension on the cable reel and latch. Hope that helps.
