So the MAF sensor goes past the filter and not the throttle body. This is an easy setup. I needed an hour. But I'm slow and careful. And remember, the mass airflow sensor has a hole on one side. This is before the filter. Anyway, my 10 year old daughter could do it. And if you hit it on the freeway, you can definitely hear the scratchy sound. But otherwise it should be quiet. If this sounds like a compressor, you did it wrong and you have leaks due to improper installation. It fits perfectly in my 07 fw510.
