Bought MM400 to replace my aging Beckman Circuitmate DM27 which I used for general home use. I'm very happy with the Klein MM400, it's small and easy to use, has high quality sensors and looks solid. The simple dialing and auto-ranging feature make it easy to use, while the backlight on demand and auto power off to save battery are the features I was looking for in the new DVM. One downside is that by default, the device uses AC power to measure voltage and current. This makes sense as the device is intended for the electricians who most often deal with AC installations. Most I use for DC measurements, so I have to remember to press the SEL button to change it, no big deal, I'll survive. I compared the accuracy of voltage, current, capacitance and frequency measurements between the Klein and my old Beckman and the readings agreed within a few tenths of a percent difference between them. I wasn't able to test the accuracy of the resistance as this feature didn't work on my old Beckman. I wouldn't choose this base unit for precise troubleshooting of computers or circuits, but it will do for electrical work, auto repair, or even general consumer electronics.
