Plastic is good for eating/drinking, but you need to be able to read Chinese to play

I really like plastic cards. Our gaming group allows snacks and drinks during the game, so perfect for keeping the cards clean. Because they're plastic, you can just wipe them off if something gets on them. I'm also a big fan of cards instead of tiles as it takes up less space to play and there are no tiles and racks to lay out on the table. A friend and I took them outside and played under the shade of a tree, using nothing more than an outside edge table to keep stacks, giving you a lot more options than tiles. But these cards need some kind of holder. Your two stacks. Since they are plastic, they keep slipping off each other. A simple piece of cardboard for storing discard piles and playing games would be very nice. But our biggest complaint is that they don't even have English numbers. So if you want to build consecutive series, you need to know how to read Chinese. (If you don't know how to play, it's like poker where you have to make sets of three of a kind, four of a kind and consecutive numbers. However, we don't know what symbols the different numbers use in Chinese. If you look at photo 3, the blue part over the red part are the different numbers and the red part are the suits.) We searched the internet and found an image that told us what each number was, but it wasn't that easy to remember, and it has attempts to make back-to-back runs so impossible that we've made it a rule to just not use runs. I got a white marker and we are planning to write English numbers on it to make it easier to play in the future. You must know how to play mahjong, there is no instruction here, it's just a card game. Symbols used on other maps are old-style. For example, instead of a dragon image, you get a square representing the dragon card (image 2). This is truly a Chinese game with Chinese cards and Chinese symbols. Write. On the one hand I like that it's an old game, but on the other hand I want the English numbers and my kites and wind to look like kites and wind.
