. If I could give this product a 3.5 I would. The photos look so good. Is it functional and does it leave the design, yes. Whether it's overall best for all cookie doughs (I'm talking chewy dough like stuffed cookies like Oreos) I'm not selling. I'm making Oreo cookies from Stella Parks' BraveTart cookbook. In her recipe, she calls for 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. If you leave it out and roll out the patterned dough, it will disappear completely during baking. When I dip the baking powder, roll out the dough and bake the cookies my pattern is visible but not as deep and defined as shown in the pictures. So I don't know if other pens have a deeper design that works better with this particular recipe. But for $25 I'm not very impressed.
