Review on Evenflo Multi Use Decor Walk Thru Black by Nicole Madison

This is my 4th baby gate installed and I will be returning it tomorrow. Not only is this the worst thing I've ever bought, it's also defective. I have ordered a replacement Todderoo. I watched too many goals and got confused and should have been ordered to start with this one. It started badly when one of the wall mount screws broke and wouldn't turn all the way down. Oiling it and screwing it in and out didn't help loosen it and I ended up using a channel lock to get it working. After installing the gate I found that it would not stay open unless supported. It's totally impractical unless you're a parent and want the door locked 24/7 (my other three stay open). Grandparents or dog owners have to deal with gates that they can't leave open when not in use. Another problem is that it's hard and heavy and you can't open it without lifting it. It's a high gate so it gets uncomfortable for short people and uncomfortable for everyone else, especially since leaving it open isn't really an option. I was sad and discouraged but thought of some outdoor place it might come in handy so I ordered the one to buy and figured I'd move it when the new one arrived. I hadn't used this original gate even a day before realizing the door was not hanging properly and when the gate was closed it was only latched at the bottom. The top latch did not line up with the holes for it and I had to lift the door to latch it. It was no longer usable from the outside either, because if dogs or children pressed against a gate that was only locked from below, the upper hinge would be stiff and would break over time. It's really disheartening after going to great lengths to install a gate only to find it to be flawed and not even a good design.
