I ordered this compressor (the box said it was made in Taiwan for OEM tooling) and used it on a 2000 Tundra, but the spring is 11/2 in diameter 16 and the safety can hit the spring and it won't snap. It appears that 9/16 gauge spring wire or smaller is suitable for use with safety latches. Also, the bolts were slightly bent when fully compressed. It worked and I changed it, but I was scared. This tool is fine for lighter springs, but for pickups or springs with wire diameters larger than 9/16, I recommend purchasing a heavy-duty model.
