Review on SE JT46WG Round Standard Gauge: Perfect Companion for Precision Measurement by Toki Louton

Having never bought one of these gauges before, I figured that all of these round gauges were the same, so I just looked for the cheapest one and ordered it. However, when I first opened the envelope and pulled it out after it arrived, I saw that many of the numbers were scratched or half missing and there were still burrs around the edges of all the slots. I saw one advertised as 2mm thick so thought I'd get it, but when I pulled it out of the clear plastic sleeve it was thin sheet metal. I measured it and it looks like 1mm. I needed this to measure the 12 and 14 gauge wires in my panel so I could see if any of the 15 amp circuits could work with 20 amp breakers but the slots for 12, 13, 14 and 15 gauge are ALL ONE SIZE.! making it completely useless. Based on my experience in machine shops when I was younger, this looks like a second factory to me, a marriage that cannot be sold as top notch. Either way someone is buying seconds and selling them cheap via Revain FBA, bad quality just passed or just cheap sensors. I can't know for sure, but I do know it's not a well-made quality tool or one that everyone would love to have in their toolbox or workspace. I've been trying to save a few bucks but it's wasted and now I have to spend about an extra $9 to get a good premium one from someone else.
