The product arrived very quickly and in excellent condition. I have a table on the outside that has a rough finish and can hold about 2/3 the depth of the clamps and it seems very strong and sturdy! I used an old soft rubber mat with a non-slip backing so my dog could hold on to the surface. (A yoga mat is also fine to keep paws from slipping and moving.) I started a session by simply combing and laying it down. The next time I tried trimming the nails, I decided to use small pieces of steak with each cut to make sure she kept up. She didn't fight me anywhere near the way I've been through before struggling with 13lbs of pure NOPE and scratching myself trying to get away. Even with another person holding her I managed to cut too much when she tore her leg causing bleeding and I didn't dare try again. Until now. I was relieved HUGE when I was finally able to successfully trim my child's nails and I think it was a lot less traumatic for her too! It's worth every penny, even if you only use it to trim your nails. I am very very satisfied and hope this product will hold up with continued use.
