Great waterproof daypack but no frills

I didn't put this bag through the rigorous dive test of some of the other reviews, but I took it on a snowshoe hike and it held up well in the snow and rain. It's attractive, lightweight, rubbery, it even has mesh pockets on the outside, what more could you ask for? Now that I have this basic waterproof backpack I want to add a few extras. I wish this pack had more bells and whistles. What would really help is a water bladder (aka a platypus) or at least a sleeve pocket to tuck it in, apparently outside of the waterproof section. Belts can also be more padded. If this backpack was fairly loaded, it might be uncomfortable (theory untested). The mesh pockets feel a bit flimsy, I wouldn't trust them with too much weight for too long. Despite these flaws, I would say this is a great backpack, especially for easy day trips when you expect to get wet.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Unusable features
