This aluminum crane bell is mounted vertically on my racing bike stem. This works well for letting pedestrians know I'm approaching or just saying hello to other cyclists. It has a satin finish that I couldn't make shine with polishes. Excellent. A note: the bell will not swing when wet. If the bell is completely wet, the firing pin will make a thud when moving in the rain, but the ring will not hold. I'm not sure if this applies to brass or steel bells of similar construction. In general I like it. Note 2: When installing, be careful not to let your knee hit the bell when you stand on the pedal. Additionally, the included bracket works on small diameter stems and spring stems, but is too small for today's stems. You may want to measure before ordering. I bought a separate stem seal that has a threaded hole.
