Review on Amperage Alternator 1990 2000 31100 MT2 005 31100 MT2 015 by Dewey Tory

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Much easier to fit than OEM, holds tension at idle.

Replaced a Hitachi block with a 1997 Goldwing. It got up a lot easier than the old generator. I estimated it held 13.8v at idle and the original only 12.7v. Only one ride so far but otherwise no vibrations or issues. Build Quality I would give C+ as there was a bit of rust on the body and input shaft in the center of the input shaft. It looked like it had been there for a long time. It was necessary to fit a new crimp connector to the bike *and* a new alternator to connect the remote sensor wire. You need the means to make this simple connection. FYI I *didn't* replace the shock absorber "boots" (33,000 miles) because when I pulled them out to check they were 100% fine. Time will tell, but so far so good. .Updates when available.
