Review on Seeed Studio RPLiDAR Degree Scanner by Jack Ngo
Great LiDAR device. Limited software.
Purchased for stand alone robot. The robot uses a combination of Linux and Aurduino. The software that is (easily) available for this LiDAR is Windows. The device itself is great. It's well made and (in my opinion) a huge improvement over the Model 1 block (which has external motors and a drive belt, and larger physical size). I tested on a Windows machine (since it's the "simple" software route). The device read everything around with no problems and is capable of high reading speeds. I had a problem finding drivers/programs for Linux and/or Arduino. If I plan to use this on a Windows platform I would give it 5 stars.
