helps with serviceable engines

When I first ordered this gasket for my 2002 Avalanche I was skeptical that this thing could do a step up for me. I didn't like the $95 price but I wanted more get up"n" So I bought it, it won't blow you away with a performance boost or help a tired engine, but it will bring some profit to your engine, if it's serviceable (I've got 100,000 on it and it's just been matched with plugs and cables) it works very well too. Installation on Vortech 5.3 or 6.0 requires work around two small radiator lines that connect to the throttle body (simple, no need to bypass or buy a new hose like the other guy on here said), just #1 removing the air Duct Air Cleaner and Engine Top Cover #2 Disconnect throttle linkage and push down (if non-electric). If it's electrical just remove all connections #3 Slightly squeeze both coolant lines with either a small vise or pliers and remove from throttle body without losing coolant #4 Remove nuts then remove throttle body #5 Remove air intake bolts and clean area , before installing the gasket #6 gasket, gasket, gasket, throttle body and two bolts and tighten the bolts lightly, then install the third bolt and tighten gently (not too tight) #7 this is important now you will need to reinstall and lengthen the shorter coolant line on the driver's side by very slightly detaching the coolant pipe) and releasing tension on the hose and then loosening the hose a little (1/4 inch) on the #8 throttle body and moving it either the Install connectors or the linkage or just the connectors (depending on if you have one electronic choke or cable) #9 install the two included travel plates (you will only use two bolts, not t ri, to bolt on the linkage stay) check if the linkage is slightly loose before installing the air cleaner duct and finally install the air cleaner duct and the engine top cover. Pay special attention to the cooler lines you will work with and you will always be fine (good luck and may the force be with you).

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are errors
