Review on Enhance Your Gaming Experience with ViewSonic XG270: 1920X1080P, 240Hz, Anti-Glare, and Improved Ergonomics by Manny Priadi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

240Hz, 1ms GTG, incredible FOV G-Sync and HDR10 (with limitation)!

You have to know what you're getting for your money: this is a 1080p monitor. If you want 4K or 1440 then that's your deciding factor and you already know you need that higher resolution and you'll be looking elsewhere. If you're looking for 1080p with bells and whistles, this is the ONE. I have a home made upper mid-range (or low-top if you prefer) gaming rig and the last thing I bought for it was this monitor. I spent sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo for my favorite monitor and just saw this monitor in passing. . . ALSO . . . I went to Blur-Busters with my current monitor because I wanted to get a feel for what I wanted when I saw the new Blur-Busters Approved ad. I went to the list to see what it was because it's a new product they're trying to bring to the industry and it was the only monitor on the list (so far). So I took a closer look, and I was excited, did a little more research, and I took the plunge. I was skeptical about just using DP1.2 as it delivers a 240Hz refresh with GTG under 1ms, but the feedback has been great (except people were talking about no HDR - more on that later). Worth every penny! 1) The screen is amazingly sharp and stable 2) G-sync compatible works automatically with current drivers (remember to change resolution on PC - 1080p - 240Hz . . . Win10 Standard HD - 1080p - 60Hz - - IF you don't want HDR, read on) 3) Color and brightness are very well matched on standard calibration without messing around with the OSD. 4) With the tweak the Blur-Buster guys did with Viewsonic on the refresh strobe, it's smooth when 2080 produces serious shots of any update. Now I wanted everything and I posted proof photos: HDR10 with G-Sync at 120Hz refresh rate. DP1.2 CAN run HDR10, although the conformity appeared in DP1.4. Basically, according to VESA guidelines, it's all about bandwidth. DP1.2 works with HDR10 if . . . AND ONLY IF. . . They leave enough room in the signal for the extra 25% of data, which is 10 bits per pixel versus 8 bits per pixel. There are two ways to do this (simple): lower the resolution or lower the refresh rate. HDR10 works with DP1.2 or higher cables if you lower the refresh rate to 120Hz to free up bus space, because let's face it. . . We're not going to lower our resolution, are we?! Tested on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, G-Sync at 120Hz with HDR10 is smooth and amazing! Everything I tested worked with no stuttering, tearing or blurring, with stunning colors and light and shadow contrast. Get this monitor, it's a beast!
