I have a Samsung S5 that I tether to my laptop all day. I need to charge my phone while it's plugged in. I was attracted to this device because it has a fast charge port. Unfortunately, it turned out that the fast charge port was not connected to the hub. This is an independent charging port, you can't connect to the computer through the charging port. Okay, I say, maybe at least it will charge my phone if it's plugged into one of the hub's ports. Not like this: as I write this, I'm looking at my phone, which I plugged in a few hours ago. When I plugged it in it was 89% charged and now it's down to 84%. In other words, my phone actually drains when plugged into a powered hub. Not at all what I was looking for. Another problem, upon opening the box I found no documentation. General. A minor point, but at least minimal documentation is to be expected. I'm sending this back. I have no idea why others are raving about a hub that drains devices attached to it, but to each their own.
