Review on 🔥 Nordic Ware Collapsible Roasting Rack by Joe Martin

Hoped this would arrive by Thanksgiving and it did. I've never used it but figured the turkey wouldn't have a wet butt this year. I saw a cooking show on PBS that gave advice on what to look out for. Retractable handles were important so that they would not interfere with installing the grate in some pans and that the handles be on the sides rather than the ends as it would be more difficult to remove the grate from most pans. Also curved shape and many holes. I also wanted nonstick. This trivet was a perfect fit for my large pan and worked great. There have been numerous comments from reviewers that the handles slip under the counter and are difficult to fish out to lift the counter. In my case, the handles were on the sides of a high-sided brazier, so the handles didn't pull back as much. If this happens in future use I think I'll just fish them out with a fork and grab them. They don't need solid handles as this makes it difficult to fit into some pans and takes up more space when you store them. I only have 2 complaints: First, it had a few scratches deep enough to remove the coating. It wasn't my fault, it happened that way (see picture). There wasn't time for an exchange if I was going to use it for a vacation, so I left it. Too bad this wasn't rejected by QC. Second complaint, it's a little difficult to clean. The side ends are folded and not closed to allow the substance to get inside. They should be locked in there and also point inwards, not outwards. The coating also seems to want to retain fat. It took 3 hand washes to clean and unfortunately it's not dishwasher safe. But don't let these things stop you from buying. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone, just make sure you have time to replace it if scratched. I have not received any compensation for this review.
