Great scale with good features at a great price

This scale does everything as advertised. I'm a chef at a high-end tea shop that specializes in baked goods. Buns, crumpets, fresh homemade bread and English muffins, as well as the signature cake that has been served in the same restaurant for 140 years and features in James Beard's classic cookbook. The scale I had was almost as old as the restaurant. Old, rusted, no metric conversion, and generally not accurate enough to maintain daily consistency. I went grocery shopping and any other digital scale that had all these features cost at least twice as much, and my boss wouldn't give me the money to buy an actual baker's scale that cost $400. This scale has a fairly large platform to accommodate larger measuring vessels and still be able to see the display. The platform is also removable for easy cleaning. The display is nice and big, so it's easy to read and very bright. The fold-down control panel and display cover are a handy feature that can be easily removed for cleaning. It also comes with two flexible plastic covers for the controller and display, allowing you to change the display settings without removing it. I like how I can change the display from ounces to only pounds with a different setting that displays both pounds and ounces. So if I scale the bread ingredients and I need 5 pounds of flour and then 2 ounces of yeast, I don't need to change the display. It also converts metric units to grams and kilograms. Do yourself a favor and get a power cord now. It comes with cheap batteries, which is a nice feature if you need portability, but the battery probably won't last long in a commercial kitchen. It has an auto-off feature, which I think is a bit short, and it even turns itself off when plugged in, which doesn't excite me, but that's negligible given what you're getting for the money. I could turn off the auto shut off feature, but I've only been using this scale for two weeks. So far it's been great. The manual recommends calibrating the scale before use. I already had the 1 oz, 1 gram, 1 lb and 1 kg calibration weight installed and it was ready to use. The only thing I would change is that I would like it to have a little more weight so it stays in place a little better, but now I'm picky. I haven't used the bake percentage feature yet as all the recipes I use have already listed multiple batch measurements and both metric and standard weights so I can really talk about it. All in all, for what this scale is worth, it's great. Great scale for the money.
