If they cost a lot more I wouldn't rate them as highly as they don't compare to the really expensive ones on the market but for the great price and number of knives in the set. They absolutely guarantee five stars. I bought these for my much younger sister-in-law when she first came up with some cheap knives from the dollar store. I had nightmare visions of her cutting herself badly trying to use crappy knives so when I noticed her I decided to give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good they are for the insanely low price and feel a lot better about my inexperienced sister's safety! I can't say anything about the peeler because I haven't tried it, but all the knives are great.
