Let's start by saying we've been a fan of green toys for years and have a lot of their toys that work great and are very durable. When we saw this new Minnie Mouse stacker, we were excited to add another green toy to our collection. Unfortunately, the toy smelled very strongly of perfumed detergent when opened. They aired, washed, soaked in water with soda, and also tried vinegar. Nothing got rid of the smell. I contacted Green Toys, they were very responsive and offered to send a replacement toy. Unfortunately, even after months of airing, the replacement forklift smells very strongly of detergent. I asked if they use recycled detergent bottles in their products and they said no, but the manufacturer they use uses detergent bottles in other products. They thought the smell might have gotten into their toy, but it should go away. This smell will definitely not go away and appears to be part of the toy. I will be sad if the new Green Toys will be like this because it will no longer be a safe, non-toxic toy for our family.
