Review on Garmin nüvi 205 Portable GPS Navigator - 3.5-Inch, Black by Tim Knain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nuvi 205 - great performance, plus 255 and 1450 models

Nuvi 205 is a significant improvement over the Nuvi 200. It has a faster processor and more features. With the 200, the speed is not displayed when navigating, but with the 205 it is and the speed limit for normal motorways is displayed. It also groups favorite places like food into folders, so you don't have to search for all your favorites. You can even create a folder like Friends or Parks. It works just as well as 255, except the street name isn't pronounced. You have to look up at the screen to see the street name, but 205 is cheaper. Satellite fix is fast and the battery works well when not plugged in. UPDATE - I love the Nuvi 205 so much I have since bought two more, both 255 wide models which are also great and speak street names. UPDATE 2 - We like the 255, we've moved to Traffic adapters and Garmin wearable friction mounts that sit low on the dash and can be easily placed on the ground when parked. There are no rings on the glass. UPDATE 3 - 1450 LMT preserved and further improved with the image of highway curves. The GARMIN is much better seen in SUNLIGHT and the side streets are visible for quick detours. When traveling I use 2, one for navigation and one for fixed view or for my passenger to find restaurants. The best!
