Update November 6, 2021: I have used the steamer more often as the weather got colder. This makes a huge difference in the flavor and texture of frozen buns. I buy a lot of these frozen veggie rolls from Asian supermarkets. In the past, the easiest way to reheat them was to cover them with a damp paper towel and pop them in the microwave. Even with a damp paper towel, the buns will come out a bit dry and chewy. Steaming will moisturize the buns more evenly and bring the texture back to a soft, fluffy state, as if they had just been baked. This pot is suitable for 2 large rolls and probably 4 small ones. When opening the lid, just watch out for steam from the vent. I nearly burned myself yesterday when I forgot how to put the lid on and put my hand right on the little steam hole. I don't like steaming food in the summer because it raises the temperature in the kitchen. In winter, it is ideal for reheating food while adding warmth. Original review: I love the clean multifunctional design of this pot. Got this to replace a rice cooker which was taking up valuable space in my small apartment but was rarely used. It is pleasing to see how quickly the higher of the two settings heats up (II). I poured filtered water from my fridge into a saucepan. It reached about 153 degrees in 4.5 minutes. At a lower temperature, it took about 10 minutes for boiling to start. So far I've cooked frozen dumplings and vegetable miso soup in it. It is convenient to use, does not take up much space and is very easy to clean thanks to the non-stick coating. A nice addition is the steamer. I haven't steamed anything yet, but I've found that the steamer needs to be in a certain position to be stable or it will wobble a bit. A few things to look out for: 1. The cord that connects to the handle is quite loose, easy to unplug after cooking but can be a bit of a nuisance as it is so compared to all my other appliances is loose. 2. The depth of the inner pot is only about 3 inches. Pay attention to the min/max lines to prevent the dish from drying out or cooking away.3. The bottom of the pot is not waterproof, be careful when cleaning the pot and make sure everything is properly dried before use. All in all, it's great for when a person wants to quickly make a soup or stew. For me a practical addition to the microwave and air fryer. I haven't used my stove in a couple of years and probably won't either.
